An Introduction to

Dates: Starts 8th October - for 6 weeks, ends 19th November (no session 29th October).

Time: 13:00 - 15:00

The twentieth century will be featured in the 'Introduction to Welsh Poetry', and we will get an insight into the response of Welsh poets to the challenges of the twentieth century.

Each week the focus is on reading one poem, and there will be an opportunity to learn more about the historical context and the background of the writers in question. There will also be an opportunity to look at the literary techniques of the poets, and to consider how the political changes of the period influence their craft. With support, there will also be an emphasis on learning how to formulate a personal response to the poem.
